DIY Photo Heart Collage

Hello everyone!

It‘s time for some home decor DIY and I thought I would share with you my latest crafting session. I found this on pinterest and fell in love with the idea. This is a very simple and cheap project that can brighten up your room, living room, hallway or basically any room except the bathroom or kitchen. A heart shaped photo collage. I found around 50 photos of memories and people I love and had them developed. It was super easy and took no time and was very cheap. What you need to make this is :

44 horizontal photos of your choosing

Double sided tape

Now you can make the heart as big or small as you want. I went with a big heart but you can do it with polaroid sized photos (Instagram photos are ideal)  and/or make use fewer photos for a smaller one. When choosing what photos to use keep in mind that horizontal photos make this much easier. I drew up the layout very clumsily so you can better understand what I did. To start with it’s a must to lay all the photos out the way you want them. If you are making a big heart it´s best to lay them out on the floor to get the idea of what goes where and how big it is. Then the double sided tape goes on the back of the photos and start hanging them up. I think it’s best to start at the bottom and work upwards, that way it’s less likely that the heart gets messed up.

Just make sure to get good tape otherwise the photos will be falling down on random times. You can get it at most craft stores and book stores. I think some fairy lights would look beautiful around the photos as well but since I live in Iceland and it won’t be dark till sometime September so I didn’t hang any. What you need for that are fairy lights with 50 lights and a few 3M hangers with glue. Now I know that my photos are horrible quality but I lent my camera so the phone will have to do for one blog. Also I’m in the middle of redecorating so sorry about the mess and how empty everything looks!

Það er komin tími á að taka eitt DIY og ég ætla að deila með ykkur því nýjasta sem ég föndraði. Ég fann þetta á pinterest og finnst þetta alveg hreint frábær hugmynd. Þetta er mjög einfalt og ódýrt föndur sem hressir upp á svefnherbergið, stofuna, ganginn og henntar í rauninni öllum herbergjum nema baðherbergi og eldhúsi. Ég fann 50 myndir af minningum og fólki sem mér þykir vænt um og lét framkalla þær. Það er miklu minna mál en ég hélt. Setur allar myndirnar í möppu inná usb lykil og þeir framkalla þær beint af lyklinum. Þetta er mega létt og ódýr leið til að fiffa aðeins upp á heimilið. Það sem þú þarft er :

Tvöfalt límband (lím báðu megin)

Það er hægt að hafa hjartað stórt eða lítið bara eftir hentugleika. Ég ákvað að hafa mitt hjarta stórt þar sem að ég er með mikið af veggplássi. Til að hafa hjartað minna er hægt að hafa myndirnar í polaroid stíl (t.d af instagram) og/eða með færri myndum. Það er betra að nota láréttar myndir því það er miklu einfaldara að raða þeim upp í rétt form. Síðan er myndunum raðað á einhvern flöt þannig að myndirnar séu í réttri röð og hægt sé að sjá hversu stórt það er. Síðan er límbandið sett aftaná myndirnar og límt upp á vegginn. Það er gott að byrja neðst og vinna sig upp, það minnkar líkurnar á að maður ruglist.

Um að gera að kaupa gott límband til að þær hangi alveg pottþétt uppá veggnum. Það er hægt að kaupa svona límband í flestum föndurbúðum, A4 og pennanum. Ég held að það komi svakalega fallega út að hengja LED ljósaseríu í kringum myndirnar en þar sem það er að koma sumar og sólin skín allan sólarhringinn ákvað ég að sleppa því. En þá væri 50 ljósa sería og nokkrir lím snagar það sem þyrfti til að gera þetta fullkomið og ég ætla klárlega að gera það næsta haust. Ég veit að myndirnar eru ekki í góðum gæðum en myndavélin mín er í láni þannig að þessar verða að duga í þetta skiptið. Svo er ég líka í miðjum klíðum við að endurraða og hressa uppá heim þannig að það er allt í drasli. Vonandi getið þið afsakað ruslið og hvað allt virðist tómlegt.
