Hello everyone

Since Christmas is almost here it‘s time to share some of my favourite Christmas movies. A lot of them are oldies but goodies. It‘s a tradition in almost every home to watch Christmas movies in December. These will be in no particular order, it was hard enough to only pick 10! But these are movies I watch every year around Christmas at least once. Hopefully you will discover some movies you haven’t seen yet although I think these are classics.
Disney’s Christmas Carol
This one stars Jim Carrey. This is a total classic, everyone has heard the story which is written by Charles Dickens or seen a version of the movie. This is an animated one where Scrooge is voiced by Jim Carrey and it’s my favourite version. The Muppets Christmas Carol and Mickey’s Christmas Carol are very good as well but I think this is the best one.
Jack Frost
I saw this movie when I was very young and my dad worked away from home for weeks at a time so this one touched my heart. It is super cheesy but a really good one.
The Holiday
This is one of the Christmas rom-cons I’ve seen. It’s so good. Jude Law is such a dream in it and just, yeah you’ve got to see it
The Hogfather
This movie is a little unconventional I guess and not nearly as well known as it should be. It is based on the book Hogswatch by Terry Pratchett. It’s a fantasy movie that happens in another universe and one of my all-time favourites. Would probably be in the top 3 if I were ranking them.
Jingle All The Way
The 90’s were a good era in many ways and oh my did they know how to make the cheesy family movies. This one has a very typical story line where Schwarzenegger plays the dad that goes all the way to get his son the “it” toy for Christmas but of course its a lot harder than just that.
The Nightmare Before Christmas
I know that this is a Halloween movie but I always watch it while I decorate the tree which is usually on the 23’rd. I think it’s a good tradition. Of course I sing along with all the songs and usually just watch the second half of the movie when I’m done decorating.
Home Alone 1
Love this movie. Everyone has seen this. It’s a must watch, preferably many times during the winter and Christmas.
While you were sleeping
Another seasonal rom-con. This one is from the 90’s and it’s so cute and cheesy. Really recommend this one. It has a nice message and makes me all warm and fuzzy inside
How The Grinch Stole Christmas
It’s such a pretty story with a beautiful message. Oh and the songs are so good. It has the essence of Christmas
The Santa Clause
This movie is Christmas. I have watched this movie almost every year since I can remember. I love it and it’s so good
A few movies that I want to mention even though they are not Christmas movies as such I always watch Lord of the rings or Harry Potter during Christmas, sometimes both. And of course movies like Pride and Prejudice and Anna Karenina. I hope you saw some movies you want to watch. Merry Christmas!

Halló allir!
Jólin eru næstum komin og tími jólamyndanna er núna. Mig langar að deila með ykkur uppáhalds jólamyndunum mínum. Það er hefð á flestum heimilum sé horft á jólamyndir í aðventunni. Myndirnar verða ekki í neinni röð, það var nógu erfitt að velja bara 10 hvað þá að setja þær í sæti. Vonandi finnið þið einhverjar myndir sem þið hafið ekki séð áður en mér finnst þessar myndir vera klassískar.
Disney’s Christmas Carol Þetta er teiknimynd þar sem Jim Carrey er aðalleikarinn og raddar Scrooge. Þessi saga er sígild, skrifuð af Charles Dickens og margar myndir byggðar á henni. Það er útgáfa frá Disney þar sem Mikki Mús er aðalhetjan og önnur þar sem brúðuleikararnir fara á kostum. Þessi útgáfa er hinsvegar í uppáhaldi hjá mér.
Jack Frost Ég sá þessa mynd first þegar ég var lítil og pabbi vann að heiman í lengri tíma í einu. Þessi mynd snerti hjartað mitt. Hún er væmin en algert æði
The Holiday
Þetta er svona jóla-rómantísk gamanmynd. Hún er mjög góð og Jude Law er alger draumur í henni. Já.. þú bara verður að sjá hana.
The Hogfather
Þetta er ekki týpísk jólamynd og ætti að vera miklu þekktari en hún er.. Hún er byggð á bókinni Hogswatch eftir Terry Pratchett. Ég er mikill aðdáandi hans og finnst bækurnar hans alveg æðislegar. Þetta er fantasía sem gerist í öðrum heimi en samt svo jólaleg. Þessi væri örugglega í top 3 ef ég væri að setja þær í sæti
Jingle All The Way
Milli 1990 og 2000 kom út alveg ofboðslegt magn af fjöldkylduvænum jólamyndum. Vá hvað þeir kunnu að gera góðar klassískar “alveg eftir bókinni” myndir. Þetta er ein af þeim. Schwarzenegger leikur pabba sem leggur allt á sig til að gefa syni sínum “flottasta dótið” í jólagjöf og lendir í allskonar ævintýrum við að reyna það.
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Þetta er hrekkjavökumynd, ég veit. En ég horfi alltaf á hana á Þorláksmessu meðan ég skreyti tréð. Ég hlusta yfirleitt bara á fyrri helminginn af myndinni meðan ég skreyti og horfi á rest og auðvitað syng hástöfum með.
Home Alone 1
Þessi mynd er alveg frábær. Það hafa allir séð hana og það er eiginlega skylda að horfa á hana eins oft og hægt er fram að jólum.
While You Were Sleeping
Þetta er önnur rómantísk gamanmynd og einmitt síðan ’95. Oh þessi mynd er svo sæt og væmin. Ef þú hefur ekki séð hana mæli ég með henni!
How The Grinch Stole Christmas
Falleg saga með fallegri boðskap og geðveikt skemmtileg lög. Hafa ekki allir séð þessa amk þrisvar? Þetta eru sko jól í dós!
The Santa Clause
Enn ein myndin síðan um 90. Ég hef horft á þessa um næstum hver einustu jól síðan ég man eftir mér. Alveg bannað að missa af þessari.
Svo eru nokkrar myndir sem er ekki hægt að sleppa því að minnast á. Þetta eru ekki beint jólamyndir en ég horfi alltaf á þær á jólunum. Lord of the Rings og Harry Potter. Ég horfi yfirleitt á þær til skiptis og svo auðvitað myndir eins og Pride and Prejudice og Anna Karenina. Ég vona að þú hafir fundið eitthvað af myndum hér á listanum til að horfa á. Gleðileg Jól!
