The brushes you need?

Hello everyone!

(Á Íslensku neðar)

The topic for today are brushes. There are so many brands to choose from and so many kinds. That can make it pretty difficult to know where to start. Of course you don’t need brushes but they are so fun and versatile. I started buying brushes when I started experimenting with eye shadow. Just one at a time, very affordable low brand ones. But typically when starting out, not knowing what which brush does and so on, it can be good to start with buying a set. Below I’ll be reviewing the set, pros and cons. Trends for the upcoming autumn 2015 Pt 1

Hello everyone!

(Á Íslensku neðar)

Summer is coming to an end and autumn is setting in and so I think it’s a perfect time to ponder on upcoming trends. Personally I love autumn and all the beautiful colours that come with it. It is one of my favourite seasons so it’s time to bring out the blankets, fairy lights and scented candles. (more on that in another post soon)

One of the things I notice the most is that the ultra-matte look seems to be and going on a hiatus. Shimmer, shine and glow seem to be coming back and coming back strong for the winter. So say goodbye to the matte lipsticks and matte contour and welcome back highlighters, baked blushes and shiny lips. These are predicted to be THE hottest trends for this fall and I’m excited!

Berry Lips
Darker shades in all kinds of delicious berry tones come knocking as the autumn comes rolling in. From subtle raspberry tones to statement dark cherry, everything goes. But for this fall velvet shine is all the rage. What describes the look best is 90’s without the lip liner. So pigmented glosses and glossy lipsticks and have some fun with it. Personally I love the lip pencils from Maybelline and the darker shades in Rouge in Love by Lancôme. They will be my go to lipsticks this fall.

Skin perfection! No need for foundation anymore?

Hello everyone!

(Á Íslensku neðar)

Today i want to introduce you to something special. It’s advertised as a moisturizer but to me this product is so much more. L’Oréal’s SkinPerfection beautifying day cream. Now the first thing that caught my eye was the packaging. It’s so pretty and bright in neon pink and orange ombre tube with a metalic pink cap. I have to admit that I did no research on this before I bought it. It just looked really cool so I thought I’d give it a chance, since L’Oréal hasn’t let me down. I was on my way to work and I was running a bit late so I didn’t IMG_1463have any makeup on so i grabbed it with me. I tried it as soon as I got to work (wasn‘t late after all) and I have never tried anything like it.

Now as I mentioned in an earlier post, I’ve been lazy with foundation lately. Continue reading “Skin perfection! No need for foundation anymore?”

The new craze.. Mary Lou-Manizer, review

Hello everyone

(Á íslensku neðar)

I know I haven’t written anything in a while and the reason for it is simply that I really needed a break and haven‘t felt inspired at all. I’ve had some kind of inspiration block for weeks now. I have started many blog posts and all kinds of DIY projects but somehow I’m never able to finish. But now I feel the inspiration coming back and I hope to be posting a lot more frequently and publishing the posts I’ve started on.

Today I want to talk about a new product, The Mary Lou-manizer from The Balm. It has taken the country by storm. At first I thought this was one of those super hyped products that couldn’t hold up when it came down to it. Then I decided to just go for it and try it out. I’ve been testing it now for about 3 weeks and I have come to realize that this product is not hyped up, it’s just really good. All the products from The Balm come in a 50’s styled packaging with a sassy name which is completely unique. And that goes for the Mary Lou-manizer as well. It comes in a really cute silver compact with supposedly Mary Lou on the cover.
